Homeopathy is a safe natural form of alternative medicine that has been used around the world for over 200 years. It's worldwide popularity is growing, and according to the World Health Organization is the second most widely used medicine in the world. It is used worldwide by over 500 million people.

How Does Homeopathy work?
Gently restoring balance by stimulating the body's natural system of healing, homeopathy recognizes that our physical, mental, and emotional states are interconnected and affect each other. When we are out of balance in one or more aspects of our life, our health can suffer.
Homeopathy is based on the principle of 'like treats like'; that a substance which causes symptoms when taken in large doses can be used in small (dilute) amounts to treat those same symptoms, allowing our body's innate intelligence to restore our health. For example, poison ivy creates rashes and itching, but when elements of poison ivy are prepared as a homeopathic remedy, they can help the body overcome the same symptoms. 'Like treats like'.
Homeopathic remedies are made from natural sources and are non-toxic and safe for all ages (including babies, children, and pregnant women) because they are highly dilute substances. They are also safe to take alongside prescription medications. To ensure fully integrated health care, it is important that you stay on any prescribed medication while taking homeopathy and to coordinate any medication changes with your physician.

What is Homeopathy used for?
People around the world take homeopathy for a wide variety of reasons, both acute and chronic. Regardless of your condition, treatment focuses not on the named disease but on the individual way we manifest imbalance in our bodies (physical mental and emotional). It is a gentle and lovely way to improve overall well-being and restore balance and can be a tremendous complement to conventional medical treatment.
What happens when I visit a Homeopath?
The first visit takes 60-90 minutes and is a conversation about you and your health....taking into account your physical, emotional, and mental symptoms including life circumstances, background, diet, mood, personality, as well as your 'chief complaint'.
When working with children, the approach varies depending on the situation and the age of the child. Sometimes, it can be helpful for the parent to first discuss the issues without the child present. In all instances, it is important that the homeopath meets and observes your child.
Based on this conversation, the homeopath then recommends a remedy that best fits your overall 'picture'.
A routine follow up phone call is scheduled for a week after the first appointment (5 minutes at no charge) and follow up visits are usually scheduled on a monthly basis. As improvement is noted, the intervals between visits are progressively lengthened; the goal being good health.
Skype, FaceTime, and phone call consultations can also be arranged if getting to your appointment is a challenge. Ask about the options. I work with clients in the UK, Canada, and across the States.
How long does treatment take?
Homeopathy is not a 'miracle cure'. While there are certainly instances when improvement does occur very quickly...especially in acute situations, it is best viewed as a process of healing that requires time. Chronic states which have taken years to develop can also take months (and sometimes longer) to improve. As a guideline, you can expect to see a homeopath once a month for 3-6 months with a review of your progress at 3 months.
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please do so at least 24 hours before scheduled appointment. Cancellations or rescheduling within 24 hours of appointment time will be fully charged. If you have exceptional circumstances that cannot be avoided, please do discuss this with Marea.
